Schlegel has been around a long time. We started in 1880’s to make “surrey fringe” for horse-drawn buggies. When the automobile replaced the buggy, Schlegel supplied woven interior trim for the newly formed car companies. During the Second World War, Schlegel switched production to defense work. In 1987, Schlegel pioneered the use of conductive fabric clad foam products to control electromagnetic interference (EMI) in computers and other electronic products. In 1987, Schlegel sold its first EMI gasket to IBM. Today, EMI shielding products, like the rest of the product range, are sold to customers worldwide. We do not just manufacture, we supply.
