Mercado de Valores de Buenos Aires S.A. (Merval) is a self-regulated institution that was incorporated in 1929. The corporate capital is represented by shares of stock. Once certain requisites are met, the holders of these stocks (individuals or legal persons) are authorized to act as stock brokers or brokerage firms and execute transactions for the purchase and/or sale of securities for their own account or for the account of third parties.
