In 1879 Francesco Badaracco set up a small delicatessen in Lugano. That was the foundation stone to what has since evolved into a global business dealing in rare and exclusive wines. His three sons Andrea, Vittorio and Domenico joined the business in the years around 1900 and continued to run it successfully. In the 1940s Ivo Badaracco entered the firm as a member of the third generation, until he sold the company in 1987. From then on Badaracco expanded more and built a worldwide network of customers and suppliers. In order to further extend this position, in 2001 Badaracco became a member of the Hong Kong based A.S.
