Founded in 1882, Brillantmont International School
houses some 100 boarding boys and girls and about
50 day students. All these people live and study
on the campus, which is located in a large park in
the centre of Lausanne, Switzerland.
For five generations the aim of the family of the
founder Paul Heubi has been to create an
atmosphere which favours the development of the
personality of each student entrusted to them.
1st generation:
1882: Brillantmont is founded.
1896: The current property is purchased.
1902: Inauguration of the "Institut Supérieur
d'Etudes Pratiques", in parallel with training in
languages and art.
2nd generation:
1928: There are now seven buildings in all.
1930: Opening of a secondary school section
following the French curriculum.
1939: A secretarial school is established.
3rd generation:
1948: Following the Liberation, English GCE and
American High School sections are established.
1962: Brillantmont is the first Swiss school to
open a Language Department with the newly
developed audio-visual methods.
